Shane Rose - M3DE 2008.

I am looking forward to attending the 2008 Melbourne 3 Day Event for the main reason that is the final qualification and selection event for the 2008 Olympic Games. I hope that 'All Luck' and myself can put in a strong performance and gain the all important Qualifying result and in the process catch the eye of the national selectors. I hope to repeat my success of ten years ago when I won the CCI3* class with 'Its a Knockout' to gain my place on the Australian Team for the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Italy.

Melbourne 3 Day Event is one of Australia's premier competitions and as such is used as a selection event for Championship events such as Olympic Games, World Equestrian Games and Trans Tasman competitions. Melbourne 3 Day Event is unique in the challenges it presents to horse and rider. The indoor dressage and showjumping while providing a nice environment for spectators can be distracting for the nervous or anxious horse. All Luck has competed in the Melbourne environment before and performed well, so I am confident of a good performance this year.

I will also be using Melbourne 3 Day Event to introduce two of my young horses to International competition, 'Taurus' and 'APH Moritz' will take part in their first Three Day Event, I hope these horses will be my stars of the future and look forward to the challenge of Melbourne Three Day Event to see if these horses have what it takes to be competitive on an International stage.

One thing I am sure of is that it will take a horse and rider combination that can put together a near faultless performance to win any class at this years Melbourne 3 Day Event. I am working hard to produce that winning performance.

See you there!

Shane Rose.
